Community Banking Supervisor (Head Teller)

Lead Branch Operations and Develop the Teller Team

This role is ideal for a banking professional who understands that a Head Teller does more than process transactions. You will serve as the operational leader of the teller function, ensuring cash management accuracy, compliance with banking regulations, strong internal controls, and continuous development of the teller team.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will:

• Lead and develop a high-performing teller team focused on service excellence and operational accuracy.
• Maintain a balanced vault and cash supply while minimizing outages and exceptions.
• Ensure teller operations consistently meet internal audit, security, and compliance standards.
• Reduce operational risk through strong adherence to policies, procedures, and dual-control practices.
• Partner with branch leadership to improve customer experience, support sales referrals, and achieve branch goals.
• Coach and mentor tellers through onboarding, performance development, and daily operational guidance.

What You'll OwnTeller Line Leadership

• Supervise daily teller operations and workflow.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to teller staff.
• Assist with staffing, onboarding, and ongoing training.

Cash & Vault Management

• Maintain vault, cash recycler, ATM, and branch cash limits.
• Perform cash ordering and shipment activities.
• Oversee balancing functions and resolve teller discrepancies.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, security standards, and regulations.
• Support audit preparation and operational reviews.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Customer & Branch Support

• Serve as a resource for complex customer transactions and service issues.
• Model relationship-building behaviors and referral practices.
• Support overall branch performance through teamwork and operational leadership.

What We're Looking ForRequired Banking Experience

• Minimum 2 years of teller experience in a bank or credit union.
• Demonstrated experience balancing a vault and managing branch cash operations.
• Working knowledge of teller controls, auditing requirements, compliance procedures, and branch security protocols.

Preferred

• Prior experience performing Head Teller, Teller Supervisor, Lead Teller, Senior Teller, or comparable branch operations responsibilities.
• Experience supervising or mentoring teller staff.
• Experience managing ATM cash and servicing activities.
• Strong knowledge of retail banking operations and branch procedures.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Compensation & Benefits
